Charter schools
08.06.05 (12:27 pm)   [edit]
After a long hiatus from my first blog, I am back! Here's my story - the short version.

Last year, I completed a Master's in Education and landed a job at a small private school for students with learning differences. I enjoyed my job (I used my corporate experience to work as the school's tech person in addition to my academic duties) but I left the corporate world to be a part of public education. After a year I'm now starting a career with a new charter school. As most know, charter schools are public but have the flexibility to run separate from their local school district. Charter schools seem to be popping up all around the place, especially in urban environments. That leads me to my set of questions for you.

What are your thoughts on charter schools? Do you think they're a better alternative to traditional public schools? How about in comparison to private schools? Do you have a child currently at a charter school? Do you work in one?

I'd appreciate any ideas you can share on this topic.

Bloggers in Education

Hello everyone!

I am new to blogging and I'm just checking to see if there are any fellow bloggers in education.  I recently moved from the corporate world into education and would like to have a weblog to share education ideas, wisdom and debates on the state of education.

I hope to keep this site up-to-date so we can share weekly ideas on topics in education.

Thanks,

Bunmi
